Intrastromal corneal ring segments provide long-term relief from keratoconus

Researchers in Brazil have found that implantation of intrastromal corneal ring segments (ICRS) in eyes with keratoconus appears to stabilize the disease. Keratoconic eyes receiving the implantable corneal rings demonstrated improved visual acuity and stable corneal flattening throughout the study’s five-year follow-up period.

Presbia’s Flexivue corneal implant – A new treatment for presbyopia

Presbia Coöperatief U.A. (Amsterdam) introduced its new Flexivue System for implantation of a small corneal inlay to correct presbyopia at the recent 2009 annual meeting of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons in Barcelona, Spain.
