Expedited cataract surgery improves vision but does not reduce fall risk

Prompt cataract surgery in older patients diagnosed with cataracts improves visual acuity but does not appear to significantly reduce the risk of potentially injury-causing falls among this population. That’s the conclusion of Canadian researchers in a report published in this month’s issue of the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
