Intrastromal corneal ring segments improve vision and quality of life of people suffering from keratoconus

Implantation of intrastromal corneal ring segments (ICRS) improves both vision and quality of life scores among people with the degenerative eye disease keratoconus, according to a new study. Researchers in Brazil evaluated the impact of implantation of corneal ring segments on the quality of life of keratoconus patients using a survey developed by the U.S. National Eye Institute (NEI).
