Eye infections after LASIK are rare, but early detection and management of post-LASIK infectious keratitis is critical to saving vision, according to a new large-scale study of LASIK risks. Researchers in Spain reviewed the medical files of 107,613 patients who underwent primary or enhancement LASIK procedures from September 2002 to May 2008 at a single surgical center. A total of 204,586 eyes were included in the study.
