King LASIK is led by its Medical Director, Joseph W. King, MD, a board-certified ophthalmologist who is widely recognized as one of the most experienced eye surgeons in the region. With more than 15 years of clinical experience, Dr. King has successfully performed over 60,000 laser eye surgeries, possibly more refractive procedures than any other refractive surgeon in the Pacific Northwest or Western Canada. He was the first surgeon in the Northwestern U.S. and Western Canada to use several of the most sophisticated techniques and technologies for vision correction procedures. Dr. King has served as the Medical Director of several prestigious eye care facilities in California and Washington State, as well as in Canada. As a result of his outstanding clinical skills, Dr. King is frequently asked to train other LASIK eye surgeons, and to present at professional refractive surgery meetings worldwide. In addition, he has served as a clinical investigator for various clinical research studies in refractive surgery.
Among the many thousands of previous laser eye surgery Vancouver patients who have selected Dr. King for their vision correction needs are other refractive surgeons and physicians, air force and commercial pilots, professional athletes, lawyers, CEOs, actors, professional photographers, military navigators and sharpshooters, law enforcement officers, dentists and many thousands of people whose occupations and interests depend on super vision.
Dr. King has focused his whole career on vision correction surgery.
Laser Eye Surgery at King LASIK
Dr. King specializes in Blade-Free LASIK.
Dr. King and his outstanding team of eye surgeons perform iLASIK, a state-of-the-art procedure used by NASA to correct the vision of its astronauts. Also known as all-laser-LASIK, this procedure promotes safety, precision and patient comfort, and greatly reduces the risks associated with surgical methods used in conventional LASIK. The iLASIK technique combines the bladeless IntraLase laser with wavefront-guided measurement techniques and excimer laser technology to produce highly individualized Custom LASIK treatments. Dr. King and his staff strongly believe that a customized vision correction treatment is essential to ensuring the best outcome for each patient. Their unsurpassed surgical record and experience has earned them a reputation for helping LASIK Vancouver patients and those throughout Western Canada gain independence from glasses and contact lenses.
Cataract Surgery at King LASIK
King LASIK eye surgeons also offer cataract surgery and have helped many patients throughout the Pacific Northwest achieve clear vision. Cataract surgery at King LASIK is performed using the "no-stitch" technique and premium intraocular lens implants (IOLs). The use of sophisticated IOLs, including AcrySof ReSTOR and Crystalens, allows patients to achieve improved vision at most distances, often without the need for traditional eyewear. IOLs can also be used to correct presbyopia, an age-related condition that affects the focusing power of the eye, thereby inducing farsightedness.

What Do Patients Say About King LASIK?
"Having clear eye sight is amazing to me. I see better now than I did with contacts. I always had dry eyes and was uncomfortable with contacts in and I didn't like the look or feel of glasses. I am excited about how my upcoming season will go with ‘new eyes.' I wish I had done this years ago. My wife had it done a month before and loved it, so when I came in for my free consultation, I was sold." Dan Dickau, NBA Player
"King LASIK is the place to go for LASIK. King LASIK uses NASA and Naval Aviator approved Blade-FREE Intralase LASIK. What if you move your eye? Well, they offer a tracking system on their lasers that automatically shuts off if your eye is off track. Trust your eyes to King LASIK." Adam Carolla, Radio and TV Personality
"I've been wearing glasses and contacts for 15 years. My poor vision was very frustrating and I was tired of relying on contacts and glasses. Dr. King and the staff at King LASIK made me feel relaxed and confident about the LASIK procedure. It was much easier than I expected! The day after, I had clear 20/15 vision and no pain. Recovery is so quick! The only thing I regret...is that I didn't do it SOONER." Gillian Foote, Radio Personality
"It's amazing how a few minutes completely changed my life! My fear was that my profession in dermatology is very visually oriented and after talking with Dr. King at King LASIK, I was educated about the technology that LASIK was possible for my vision. Clear vision is priceless and that's why I chose Dr. King to perform LASIK for me." Stephanie Traut, Dermatologist
