He utilizes the advanced phacoemulsification technique, which involves a small probe that is inserted through a tiny incision to emulsify and remove the eye's clouded lens; an intraocular lens implant (IOL) is then inserted through the same incision. Dr. Silverman offers the most sophisticated artificial lenses, including AcrySof ReSTOR, Crystalens and Tecnis. He also performs laser-assisted clear lensectomy for cataract patients, and offers corneal transplant surgery and lens implant procedures.

Dr. Silverman also helps patients whose near vision has been impaired by presbyopia, an age-related condition that affects the eye's ability to focus on nearby objects. Cary M. Silverman, MD, received his undergraduate degree in biology from Boston University, where he graduated with cum laude honors. He earned his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and served his residency at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia.
