Laser Eye Surgery at VisionAmerica of Huntsville
the state-of-the-art VISX Star S4 laser
To reduce each patient's dependence on glasses and contact lenses, the experienced ophthalmologists of VisionAmerica of Huntsville perform bladeless LASIK eye surgery coupled with the state-of-the-art VISX Star 4 excimer laser system. The blade-free technique employs a laser instead of a microkeratome (surgical blade) for the creation of a corneal flap. This piece of tissue is lifted and folded back from the eye to allow access to the underlying cornea for accurate correction of refractive errors such as farsightedness, nearsightedness and astigmatism. Once the corneal flap is created, the VISX Star S4 laser is used to correct even the smallest visual imperfections, thus resulting in near-perfect vision postoperatively. For patients who do not qualify for LASIK, VisionAmerica of Huntsville eye surgeons perform PRK and provide Visian ICLs (implantable contact lenses).
Cataract Surgery at VisionAmerica of Huntsville
VisionAmerica of Huntsville is staffed with highly skilled cataract surgeons who are well-versed in performing the latest no-stitch, micro-incision cataract surgery. In addition to removing cataracts, the surgeons offer premium intraocular lens implants (IOLs) to restore each patient's vision following cataract surgery, including AcrySof ReSTOR and Toric (astigmatism correcting) lenses. AcrySof ReSTOR can also be used to correct presbyopia, an age-related loss of near focusing ability. Cataract surgery at VisionAmerica of Huntsville is an effective treatment that allows most patients to gain complete freedom from traditional eyewear, often achieving 20/20 vision or better.
The surgeons at VisionAmerica of Huntsville use the most up-to-date intraocular lenses and laser eye technology.
